The Conservatory of Music is comprised of three team offices: the Team Office of Vocal Music, the Team Office of Instrumental Music, and the Team Office of Music Theory. The Conservatory of Music offers courses in the areas of professional music performance which involves the major of opera as well as the major of musical comedy and music performance which covers the major of vocal music, the major of instrumental music as well as the major of dance. Upholding the philosophy of “All-round development, distinction, humanism and quality”, The Conservatory of Music has established a highly professional teaching force of 40 instructors, of whom 36 are full-time teachers and 20 have got master’s degree. It also set up a professional symphony orchestra of dual administration, which is made up of excellent musicians from domestic and overseas universities and headed by Wu Xiuzhi, well-known vocal educator and experienced professor. Wu’s “three-in-one” vocal teaching method was granted state-level prize of excellent instruction, and was highly commended and awarded many times by State Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Education as well as Henan Propaganda Bureau.
