EFL教研室:观摩示范课,点亮教学创新之路

EFL Faculty: Observing Demonstration Lessons to Light the Way to Teaching Innovation


    在教育的探索之路上,每一次教学观摩都是一次思想的碰撞,一次教学方法的研讨, 一次宝贵的学习机会。2025年2月26日,堪萨斯国际学院EFL教研室在15-324教室举办了“课堂教学人人过关”观摩示范课活动。外籍教师 Ms. Michelle Perez老师在上学期学校抽查听课活动中获得优秀教师称号,本次活动由她主讲,EFL教研室全体教师参与观摩学习。Michelle老师以《EFL视听4》单词教学为例,以其独特的教学风格和创新的教学方法,为在场教师们带来了一场精彩的教学盛宴。

    On the road of educational exploration, every teaching observation is a collision of ideas, a seminar on teaching methods and a valuable learning opportunity. On February 26, 2025, the EFL Department of Kansas International School held a “Classroom Teaching for All” observation and demonstration activity in Room 15-324.Ms. Michelle Perez, a foreign teacher, was awarded the title of Outstanding Teacher in the last semester's school audit. This event was presented by her, and all the teachers of the EFL department participated in observing and learning. Ms. Michelle took the example of teaching EFL Audiovisual 4 vocabulary, and with her unique teaching style and innovative teaching methods, she brought a wonderful teaching feast to the teachers present.



    在课堂上,Michelle老师并未采用传统的教学导入方式,而是引入了一种创新的单词学习工具——特殊单词认知卡片。这些卡片从定义(Definition)、例句(Sentence)、同义词/反义词(Synonyms/Antonyms)以及插图(Illustration)四个维度帮助学生个性化记忆单词。学生们通过这种多角度的学习方式,不仅能够快速掌握单词的含义和用法,还能通过生动的插图加深记忆,极大地提升了学习的趣味性和效率。这种教学方法突破了传统单词教学的单调性,充分调动了学生的视觉、听觉和思维能力,真正实现了“以学生为中心”的教学理念。

    Instead of using a traditional teaching introduction, Ms. Michelle introduced an innovative word learning tool in the classroom - special word recognition cards. These cards help students personalize their word memorization in four dimensions: definition, example sentences, synonyms/antonyms, and illustrations. With this multi-faceted approach to learning, students are not only able to quickly grasp the meaning and usage of words, it can also deepen your memory through vivid illustrations, which greatly enhances the fun and efficiency of learning. This teaching method breaks through the monotony of traditional vocabulary teaching, fully mobilizes students' visual, auditory and thinking abilities, and truly realizes the teaching concept of “student-centered”.




    在检测学生对单词掌握程度的环节,Michelle老师采用了另一种创新方法——随机读句子听写单词。她通过随机朗读含有核心单词的句子,让学生在听的过程中即时听写单词。这种方法不仅考察了学生对单词的听写能力,还测试了他们在实际语境中对单词的理解和运用能力。通过真实的语境学习,学生不仅能更好地理解和记忆单词,还学会了单词的用法。

    In the session of testing students' mastery of words, Ms. Michelle used another innovative method - random sentence reading to dictate words. She randomly read out sentences containing core words and let students dictate the words instantly while listening. This method not only examined students' ability to dictate the words, but also tested their ability to understand and use the words in real contexts. By learning in real contexts, students not only understand and memorize the words better, but also learn the usage of the words.



    Michelle老师的示范教学不仅思路清晰、深入浅出,还充满了创新和趣味性,受到老师们的一致赞叹。通过这次观摩活动,老师们均有各自的体会和收获,并将在自己的课堂上尝试这些创新方法,为学生创造更加生动、高效的学习体验。

    Ms. Michelle's demonstration teaching was not only clear and in-depth, but also full of innovation and fun, which was unanimously praised by the teachers. Through this observation activity, teachers had their own experiences and gains, and will try these innovative methods in their own classrooms to create a more vivid and efficient learning experience for their students.



    “课堂教学人人过关”观摩示范课活动的成功举办,为堪萨斯国际学院EFL教研室的教师们提供了一个学习和交流的平台,也为学院的教学改革注入了新的活力。在未来的教学工作中,我们将继续秉持创新精神,不断探索和实践更有效的教学方法,为培养更多优秀的国际化人才而努力。

    The successful holding of the “Classroom Teaching for All” demonstration lesson activity has provided a learning and exchange platform for the teachers of the EFL department of Kansas International School, and injected new vitality into the teaching reform of the college. In the future teaching work, we will continue to uphold the spirit of innovation, continue to explore and practice more effective teaching methods, in order to cultivate more excellent internationalized talents.
